JEDDAH: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Yousef Al-Othaimeen on Thursday received the US consul general in Jeddah and US representative to the OIC, Ryan Gliha, marking the end of his tenure.
The meeting discussed the aspects and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two parties.
Al-Othaimeen also received Minni Arko Minnawi, governor of the Darfur region.
They reviewed the means of cooperation between OIC, Sudan and Darfur region, while Al-Othaimeen lauded Sudan’s leading role within the organization and in regards to Islamic action.
They also discussed the areas of cooperation and development support in Darfur region.
The OIC chief confirmed that the organization welcomes the recent positive developments in Sudan, expressing his honor to have been one of the witnesses on the constitutional document for the transitional period.
